Tomoko Yamada is 27 years-old and the eldest of three sisters in the Yamada family. She is known for her kindness, gentle nature, and wisdom, which make her the most respected of the three sisters. In the clan, she holds the position of support role, specifically as a healer and psychic “mission control” for her two younger sisters. Tomoko's story is marked by a humbling past, which has shaped her into who she is today. In her younger years, she was a rising star in the Akabana clan, where she performed tasks such as espionage, assassinations, and other shinobi-related duties. She was known for her brash and arrogant personality, with the skills the back it up.
However, during a mission with her mentor, they were captured by the enemy. While imprisoned, they were methodically tortured for information, with her mentor eventually succumbing. The rival clan then turned their attention to Tomoko and tortured her next, causing severe injuries, particularly to her leg. She was eventually able to escape, but her novice healing ability and time passed left her leg scarred and partially-crippled. Despite still being capable physically, the scars and injuries she sustained during captivity cause great difficulty in doing what she could do before and this quickly saps her stamina. This traumatic experience was greatly humbling, and her time as a shrine maiden for the Akabana clan has taught her kindness and compassion. After her injury, Tomoko focused on expanding her study of the mystic arts, allowing her to continue being a valuable member of the clan by providing healing support and using her psychic abilities to assist her sisters in the field. Make no mistake, however, Tomoko Yamada is still very lethal when it comes to defending herself.
Tomoko is beloved by the members of her family, especially her sisters, Hanako and Yukiko, who look up to her for inspiration and comfort. She serves as an excellent role model for her younger sisters, who admire her strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
